The Algerian karate champion died at the age of 18

The Algerian karate champion, Salsabil Malauk Bouchouareb, passed away at the age of 18 at her home in Ain Melilla.

The Algerian newspaper Al-Shorouk quoted a press statement issued by the Directorate of Youth and Sports in the state of Oum El Bouaghi on Monday: “With great sadness and grief, and with hearts that believe in God’s will and destiny, we received news of the death of the late karate champion Bouchouareb Salsabil Malak, God willing.”

Bouchouareb was crowned champion of Algeria for the second time in a row at the end of last month, while the source has not mentioned the cause of the young heroine’s death yet.
