Klopp reveals his opinion on the delay in deciding Mohamed Salah’s future with Liverpool

German Jurgen Klopp, former Liverpool English coach and current football director at Red Bull, in the Austrian city of Salzburg on Tuesday, expressed his hope that Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah would extend his contract with the Reds.

Klopp (57 years old) responded to a question about the brilliant Salah (32 years old), posed by an Egyptian journalist: “I hope he stays.” “He is a wonderful player, a wonderful man, an exceptional athlete, and the best ambassador your country can have.”

He continued in his first press conference since leaving northern England last June after 7 years spent at Anfield Road: “I hope he stays with Liverpool.”

Liverpool, which under Klopp’s supervision won the Champions League title in 2019 and the league title in 2020, among several titles, leads the English Premier League and the combined group for the Champions League competition.

These results pleased the German coach, who said, “It is wonderful that they performed well. I wish them all the best.” I watch as many matches as possible. It’s great football. “Even if you’re not supporting Liverpool at this stage, I’m enjoying it.”

He added, “It is better to watch them because this is high-level football.”

The former Borussia Dortmund coach also expressed his desire for Dutch defenders Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold to extend their contracts, which also expire at the end of the current season, with the Reds.
