المملكة: Details of the agreement between the Saudi Media Academy and King Abdulaziz University

Today, the Assistant Minister of Information and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Media Academy, Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth, held a meeting with the President of King Abdulaziz University, Tarif bin Youssef Al-Aama, at the university’s headquarters in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Assistant Minister of Information reviewed the most prominent projects and initiatives presented by the Ministry in various media fields, in addition to providing an introductory presentation about the academy.

Creative media spaces

The two sides also discussed the prospects for joint media cooperation, enhancing existing media work, empowering specialized media competencies and capabilities, providing creative media spaces that keep pace with the activities and events hosted by the Kingdom, and working on bilateral development of media coverage keeping pace with the Hajj and Umrah seasons, in addition to benefiting from the “Mediazone” initiative to contribute. In stimulating the creation of creative stories submitted by male and female university students, and activating the “Speakers” program, which is supervised by the Ministry, to train a number of university leaders.

The Assistant Minister of Information and the University President witnessed the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Saudi Media Academy and King Abdulaziz University. With the aim of supporting media education paths, and training and qualifying young media competencies, in line with the goals and programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in building a sustainable knowledge economy.

Student training

The agreement was signed by the Academy’s CEO, Khalid bin Abdeen Zain Al-Abidin, and the university’s acting Vice President for Educational Affairs, Hanaa bint Abdullah Al-Naim.
The agreement includes cooperation in multiple fields, including providing educational training courses, providing field cooperative training opportunities for male and female university students, and a career qualification program through the “Tawasul” initiative, which provides distinguished university students with opportunities to run for promising jobs, in addition to conducting research and studies to serve the work in the field. The media sector and related fields, and opens broader horizons for learning and professional development.
