President of Khalifa University: Our partnership with "Sungro" Supports the transition to clean energy and sustainable innovation

Al-Hajri told the Emirates News Agency, WAM, after signing a cooperation agreement with SunGrow Middle East, that the agreement aims to enhance research and development efforts in the areas of sustainable energy and find innovative solutions that support the transition towards clean energy in the region.

Al-Hajri explained that the agreement reflects Khalifa University’s commitment to keeping pace with national trends in supporting energy sustainability, stressing that cooperation with a leading company such as “SunGro” will contribute to producing effective innovations that support sustainable development.

For his part, Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Chairman and Owner of “Markab Capital” and a contributing member of “Sun Gro,” explained that the agreement is the largest of its kind in the region, as it focuses on strengthening local industries and supporting national competencies.

Al Qubaisi said in statements to WAM that the next five years will witness the graduation of a generation of Emirati engineers and technicians specializing in green energy, who will be able to work in more than 170 countries around the world.

He pointed out that this partnership reflects Khalifa University’s commitment to its role as a leading academic and research center that supports the achievement of the UAE’s sustainable development goals, and enhances its position as a global center for innovation in the fields of renewable energy.

It is noteworthy that the signing of the agreement coincided with Khalifa University’s review of eight innovative projects during the 2025 edition of the World Future Energy Summit, which reflects the university’s commitment to its position as a leading platform for innovation in the field of renewable energy.
