The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture offered the Saudi Code Document for Water Sources and its uses, through a “reconnaissance” platform with the aim of implementing the integrated management of water sources and protecting the drinking water stock in water sources.
This document specializes in all the water resources that God has deposited in the ground, or on the surface, or in regional waters or in the wild and maritime domain to which the state’s jurisdiction extends, and all the resources of those wealth, belong to the state, according to the water system and its executive regulations.

The document prohibited the use of water sources in everything related to improving appearance, such as sports courts, green squares, breaks, public and home parks, parks, and supplementary hygiene, such as washing homes, cars and roads, and the like in the availability of an alternative source of unconventional water.
The user also prevented the withdrawal of water from its source in excess of the amount specified in the license, and the ministry should notify the licensee if it is proven to increase its use of the prescribed water.
The document emphasized the prevention of the import of unspecified water, or its export except by a decision of the Council of Ministers, or the export of agricultural and animal products and its derivatives consumed for the water sources determined by the ministry.

Prohibit

I stressed the prohibition of digging any well of any kind or the purpose of its use except with a license issued by the ministry, or the disposal of any type of solid or liquid pollutants or liquid within the limits of the groundwater sources or its ihram, or deepening the well, isolating it or replacing it except under the approval of the ministry Or whoever delegates.

Surface water protection

The document provided protection for surface water, as it prohibited any work that would harm its sources, whether in its quality, quantities, natural streams, deprivation, or basic structures, directly or indirect Obtaining the approval of the Ministry.
It was forbidden to make any change or change within the limits of these sewers and prohibits construction in its lands for the private benefit, while allowing public benefit after the approval of the ministry, and also prevented the shelf of sand, gravel and stones from these sewers without prior approval by the ministry.
As for rain and harvesting water, the document guarantees its protection, as it obligated the licensee to harvest the water not to pollute or deprive the water source during and after the operations of the implementation of the harvest project.
