The Fahd Al -Owaidah Center for Diabetic Foot, one of the components of the Qassim Health Gathering, was able to save the foot of a fifty patient who had decided to perform a amputation due to chronic wounds that lasted for more than 10 years, which hindered his ability to walk and obliged him to use the wheelchair.

Patient condition and speed of dealing

Al -Qassim Health Gathering explained that, when he came to the center, he complained of ulcers in the sole of the foot that limited his ability to walk and caused the bones of the foot bones, which made his condition worse. The treating medical team at another center advised him to amputate the foot.

After undergoing a package of medical examinations, the medical team at the Fahd Al -Owaidah Center for Diabetic Foot decided to perform a surgery to remove and fix the bones of the bones using an external fixation device, with the wound closed in the same process, which contributed to preserving the foot and restoring its normal function.

Follow the patient after the success of the operation

The assembly noted that the process was successful -thanks to God -and the patient’s condition was followed up for 6 months, as the external installation device was removed and a mountain was placed for him, while undergoing physical therapy sessions, which enabled him to rehabilitate him to return to his normal life and walk without the need for a wheelchair .

The operation was conducted by the medical team consisting of Dr. Hani Badahh, a consultant of foot and ankle surgery, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al -Saqabi, General Surgery Consultant, Dr. Badr Al -Omari, Dr. Wael Al -Sarayan.
