Messi excluded from the Argentina list in the World Cup qualifiers before facing Uruguay and Brazil

Argentina coach Lionel Scalloni has announced the list of “Tango Dancers” for the Uruguay and Brazilian matches in the qualified South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Skaloni chose 26 players and ruled out legend Lionel Messi due to the connective muscle injury, according to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”, which he suffered in his team’s match, Inter Miami against Atlanta United, which was held today, Monday, in the fourth round of the American League, which resulted in Miami’s 2-1 victory.

Argentina leads the South American teams in the qualifiers with 25 points from 12 games, followed by Uruguay (20 points), then Ecuador (19 points), Colombia (19 points) and Brazil (18 points).

Midfield: Landro Paridis – Enzo Fernandez – Rodrigo de Ball – Alexis Mac Alister – Ezikil Palacius – Maximo Peroni – Juliano Simeone – Benjamin Domainiguez – Thiago Alada – Nicholas Gonzales.

The offensive line: Angel Korea – Nicholas Baz – Julian Alvarez – Latuaro Martinez – Santiago Castro.

Argentina will play against its host Uruguay on March 22, while Brazil will host on the 26th of the same month at the Monuming Stadium.

The Argentine national team leads the South American qualifiers with 25 points after 12 rounds.
