The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi witnesses the third Ramadan session of the Mohammed bin Zayed Council, entitled" Tolerance and coexistence in Islamic thought"

Abu Dhabi, March 21/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, witnessed the third Ramadan session organized by the Mohammed bin Zayed Council in its current season, under the title “Tolerance and Coexistence in Islamic Thought”.
He spoke during the session – which was held at the headquarters of the Council at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi – Dr. Shaya Al -Waqyan, a researcher and writer from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia specializing in the field of philosophy and human thought, as it started by highlighting the concept of tolerance starting from its roots in Islamic heritage, and its impact on societies throughout history, leading to emphasizing the need at the present time to enhance the value of tolerance and its sustainability as a means to achieve the desired coexistence.
The session dealt with the importance of tolerance as a basic pillar of development and the promotion of social peace … in addition to the fact that societies that pursue policies based on tolerance, integration and cultural pluralism have a greater ability to achieve prosperity and stability.
The spokesman stressed that tolerance is not just an ethical virtue but rather a strategic necessity to enhance stability and development in societies … and to deal with tolerance as a moral concept in the Arab religious, scientific and philosophical heritage.
He said that tolerance is based on four main pillars, which is, making room for others with the multiplicity of voices and opinions and recognition of difference, as it is a natural humanitarian fact besides believing in diversity as a factor of enriching society and that coexistence is an end to tolerance.
He stressed that Islam has established the principles of tolerance and coexistence through the concept of human dignity, which constitutes the basis of mutual respect between individuals and societies.
He pointed to tolerance in ancient Islamic thought and the importance of its principles in enhancing cooperation and mutual respect between people and the extent of the contribution of this value in building coherent and strong societies.
The researcher touched on the most important principles of tolerance, including charity that calls for cooperation and the treatment of others with goodness, besides believing in diversity and difference that contributes to the development and stability of society, in addition to the principle of civilized communication and benefit from the experiences of others and interacting with different cultures, as well as pardoning and overcoming errors as part of the human nature and the principle of equality that guarantees equal rights for all human beings, stressing that the human value is not determined With beliefs or ethnicities, but rather with the individual from good to his society and humanity.
Dr. Mashhad Al -Allaf, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Sharjah, and Dr. Fatima Al -Dahmani, Head of the Department of Tolerance and Coexistence at Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities, who talked about the role of educational institutions, media, digital platforms and youth in planting a culture of tolerance, besides the importance of arts in communication and spreading tolerance and coexistence because of its role and influence in the presentation Participants that combine all human beings … while the session was moderated by Ahmed Al -Yamahi, a program presenter in the Abu Dhabi Media Network.
