The UAE national team is declining in the new classification of “FIFA”

Our national football team declined two places in the FIFA rankings (FIFA) for the month of April, to be ranked 65th in the world, after it was in 63rd last month, in a direct reflection of the different results that the team scored during its participation in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Asian, Al -Abyad came in tenth place, retreating from eighth. The decline in the classification came after a series of official matches in the second stage of the qualifiers, as it lost to Iran in a match that sparked widespread criticism, before achieving a victory in the last round at the expense of North Korea, a victory that partially contributed to reducing the volume of decline at the level of points in the international classification.

Although “Al -Abyad” still maintains its hopes of continuing the journey towards the World Cup 2026, the general level of the team raised many question marks in sports and media, especially in light of the fluctuation of performance and technical instability that accompanied the last stage.

The UAE Football Association had announced earlier the dismissal of Portuguese coach Paulo Pinto, after the results that the sports street considered “disappointing”.
