Under the patronage of the President of the State .. Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed honors the winners of the 19th session of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award

Abu Dhabi, April 29/ WAM/ Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, and in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, His Highness Sheikh Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidential Bureau for Development Affairs and Families of the Martyrs, honored the winners of the Sheikh Zayed Award for the Book in its 19th session, during its 19th session. It was held at the Denik Abu Dhabi Center, on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which started on April 26 and will continue until May 5, 2025.
During the honoring ceremony, His Highness was accompanied by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Muhammad Khalifa Al Mubarak, Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to His Highness the President of the State, Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates, and His Excellency Saud Abdulaziz Al -Hosani, Undersecretary of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, President of the Center Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Secretary General of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award.
His Highness delivered the awards to the winners, who are the Lebanese French writer Hoda Barakat for the branch of arts, Moroccan writer Latifa Latifa, for the branch of children’s literature and young adults, the Italian translator Marco de Branco for the translation branch, and the Moroccan researcher Dr. Saeed Al -Awadi on the Branch of Arts and Critical Studies, Professor Dr. Mohamed Bishary from the UAE about the branch of development and state building, and British researcher Andrew Beckok on the Arab Culture Branch In other languages, the Iraqi -British researcher Rashid Al -Khayoun for the branch of manuscripts.
His Highness Sheikh Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Japanese international writer Haruki Murakami, honored the winner of the Cultural Personality Award, in appreciation of his creative career that affected the World Library with unique narrative works, as his works are among the most reading and translation in the world, which reflects the ability of literature to bring different cultures and extend bridges of communication between peoples.
The nineteenth session of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, which is organized by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, witnessed an unprecedented participation exceeding 4,000 nominations from 75 countries, including 20 Arab countries, with the registration of five participating countries for the first time, Albania, Bolivia, Colombia, Trinidad Tobago, Mali, which reflects the prestigious position that the award enjoys on the international cultural scene, And its role in consolidating the UAE’s position as a global center for thought and culture, and an incubator for creators and researchers from around the world.
The Sheikh Zayed Book Award has become one of the most prominent literary and cultural awards in the Arab world since its inception in 2006, as it celebrates the exceptional achievements of thinkers and creators in Arabic and other languages, and honors the authors who contribute to enriching Arab culture with their distinguished literature in the fields of literature, humanities, translation, publishing, and development.
The winner of the Cultural Personality title receives a gold medal and a certificate of appreciation, in addition to a financial prize of one million dirhams, and the winners of the rest of the branches receive a gold medal and a certificate of appreciation, and a financial prize of 750,000 dirhams for each winner, in a move aimed at supporting cognitive creativity, and promoting the sustainability of cultural giving at the Arab and international levels.
