Floods and storms strike the US state of Texas

The Meteorological Authority of the US State of Texas announced today that more heavy rains and floods will affect Houston and the state coast in the coming hours.

In a related context, the rescue teams continue to search for a 10 -year -old girl, washed away by the rapidly increasing flood water in Bernham.

Last night, the area witnessed intensive combing operations using drones equipped with heat cameras, in an attempt to find the girl.

The Meteorological Authority warned of a new wave of strong currents and floods along the beaches overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, especially during the periods of tide, calling on the population to be cautious and follow safety instructions.

The US state of Texas, specifically the areas from Houston to the coast, since the beginning of this month, has been witnessing a series of harsh weather conditions as a result of an active air depression, which resulted in heavy rains and sudden floods.

These weather conditions led to a rise in water level in many rivers and waterways, which obstructed traffic and forced hundreds of families to evacuate their homes in low areas.
