The National Elections organizes an educational symposium to open participation horizons for people with disabilities in constitutional benefits

In a pioneering step towards enhancing comprehensive participation of all spectrums of society in political life, the headquarters of the National Elections Authority in Cairo on Wednesday evening, May 7, 205, hosted an important educational symposium aimed at educating and empowering people with disabilities to participate effectively in various constitutional benefits. This symposium comes within the framework of the purposeful and constructive cooperation protocol between the National Elections Authority and the National Council for Disabilities, an embodiment of the joint efforts to ensure the full availability and political empowerment of this important group of society. & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
The symposium witnessed the presence of Judge/ Hazem Badawi, head of the National Elections Authority, Judge/ Ahmed Bandari, Director of the Executive Agency of the National Elections Authority, Judge/ Shadi Riad, Judge/ Sharif Siddiq, Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Nawab, Director of the Executive Authority, and members of the executive body of the authority. in his opening speech at the symposium, Judge/ Hazem Badawi, head of the National Elections Authority, stressed the commitment of the established authority to ensure the right to political participation for all citizens without discrimination, stressing the utmost importance to provide all means of availability and facilities necessary to enable people with disabilities to exercise their constitutional rights equally, stressing that political participation is not just a constitutional right guaranteed to every citizen, but rather It is a national duty that every voter has to contribute to building a better future. & nbsp; & nbsp; ” He reviewed the efforts of the commission in this field, including adapting electoral procedures and providing auxiliary means that guarantee the ease and ease of their participation. & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;

Judge/ Ahmed Bandari, Director of the Executive Agency for the National Elections Authority, presented a detailed presentation that dealt with the authority’s efforts to provide availability for people with disabilities in the various stages of the electoral process, starting with the update of data and to facilitate the polling process in electoral centers. He reviewed the amendments and measures taken by the authority to ensure the ease of people with disabilities reaching electoral information and exercising their right to vote without any difficulties. & nbsp; & nbsp;
The director of the executive body of the authority stressed the importance of cooperation with the National Council for Disabilities in determining the needs of this category and providing appropriate solutions that guarantee their effective participation in political life, noting that this cooperation reflects the authority’s keenness to achieve justice and equality for all citizens. & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
Judge/ Shadi Riad, Deputy Director of the Authority’s Executive Authority in his speech, reviewed the mechanism of updating the voter database with a focus on ensuring accurate inclusion of data for people with disabilities and providing the necessary data to facilitate the process of providing the electoral centers. He pointed out that the authority uses modern technologies to ensure the accuracy of data and provide the necessary information for the electoral centers to provide the necessary support for people with disabilities, and stressed the importance of coordination with the authorities concerned with the affairs of people with disabilities to ensure the provision of all necessary facilities for them in the electoral process. & nbsp; & nbsp;
Al -Qadi/ Sharif Siddiq, Deputy Director of the Executive Agency of the Authority, pointed out to the efforts made in preparing the electoral centers to be available for people with disabilities, including providing soft paths and special equipment that guarantee them the ease of movement and vote in dignity. He stressed that the authority pays special attention to training workers in electoral centers on how to deal with people with disabilities and provide the necessary support to them. & nbsp; & nbsp;
The symposium witnessed an interactive and fruitful dialogue between the authority and the National Council and those with disabilities participating, where many questions and inquiries were asked about ensuring their electoral rights and providing them with full availability. The Authority and the Council team praised the level of awareness of the participants and their keenness to participate effectively, and it was emphasized that the voice of every citizen is of importance, and that enabling people with disabilities is a national duty and a basic requirement to achieve a comprehensive democratic society. & nbsp; & nbsp;
and within the activities of the symposium, and in order to ensure effective and comprehensive communication with all participants, especially those with hearing disabilities of deaf and dumb, a specialist in sign language was used that translated all the words and interventions that took place during the symposium, and this procedure has contributed greatly to facilitating the understanding of all the points presented and ensuring complete and effective participation of people with hearing disabilities in the dialogue and discussions that She turned. & nbsp; & nbsp; ” The participants expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the commission and the Council to organize this symposium, which aims to enable them and integrate them completely into the electoral process and political life.
