المملكة: Unanimously, the Kingdom is elected representative of the Arab Group as “ICAO”
The Kingdom’s election came among the countries that have applied to run through the Arab Group for the membership of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which will be held during the work of the General Assembly, and will be held during the period from September 23 to October 03, 2025 AD, at the organization’s headquarters in Montreal, Canada.
Civil aviation in the Kingdom
The Minister of Transport and Logistics, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Saleh bin Nasser Al -Jasser, Chairman of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia delegation at the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization, praised the efforts made to achieve this distinction in the Kingdom’s election represented by the Arab Group in the membership of the ICAO Council.
He thanked the wise leadership, for the unlimited support that the civil aviation sector finds in the Kingdom, stressing that the election embodies the importance of the role played by the Kingdom in the field of civil aviation industry at the local and regional levels, in addition to its active role at the level of international organizations specialized in civil aviation.
The air transport industry
He pointed to the importance of strengthening the joint Arab action in the field of the air transport industry, and continuous communication in order to achieve the highest safety standards for this vital sector.
He concluded his speech by saying: “The Kingdom will spare no effort to support Arab cooperation, based on the directives of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, which always seeks to strengthen and lay the foundations of Arab cooperation in particular, and international in general.”
