Archive and the National Library honors government agencies supporting the archival system

Abu Dhabi, May 13 / WAM / The Archive and the National Library, at its headquarters today, the government agencies that were at the forefront of the distinguished in the archiving work, in appreciation of the efforts of the distinguished in supporting the archive system that aims to preserve the memory of the country.

The honor included the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Culture, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Communications Regulatory Authority, the digital government, the Federal National Council, and the Emirates Media Council.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the Archives and the National Library, stressed in his speech during the ceremony the joint keenness to preserve the glorious history of the Emirates, document its prosperous present, and the importance of the past in drawing inspiration and will; Pointing to the right of future generations to be inspired by our past and we are present with its strength as it passes with confidence towards the future, carrying the banner of the Emirates high, in the nations.

He said that the archive is the true stable of the documents, and it is the living witness to the times, as it maintains today’s documents to be an increase for tomorrow’s generations, because today we live in the afternoon of prosperity under the banner of wise leadership, and we witnessed witnessed achievements registered in the pages of pride, and are presented as inspired models for the whole world.

His Excellency pointed out that this honor is a pause of gratitude with effort and distinction, and he said, “Our hope is to continue together the course of excellence, past with confidence and determination in documenting our glorious past, and strengthening our prosperous present, and reaching our future to the position that is worthy of the UAE at the forefront of the countries of the world.”

Dr. Hamad Al -Mutairi, Director of Archive Department at the Archive and the National Library, said that these efforts are entirely in implementing the provisions of Federal Law No. 7 of 2008 regarding the archive, the national library and its executive regulations that are concerned with all stages of organizing archives that contribute to preserving institutional legacy and national heritage.

He touched on the recommendations of the archive and the national library in terms of establishing an organizational unit for the archive, qualifying employees, preparing archive policies, preparing work procedures, preparing a career classification plan for documents, preparing file saving plan, organizing archive in conservation sites, equipping an archive hall, and managing digital documents.

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the Director General of Archive and the National Library honored the distinguished government agencies in terms of supporting the archival system that aims to preserve the memory of the country.
