The Social Service Conference in Sharjah concludes its activities with a renewed vision towards a more coherent society

Sharjah, May 16 / WAM / The Department of Social Services in Sharjah concluded the activities of the second and final day of the Social Service Conference in its fifteenth edition, which was held under the slogan “Towards a safe society and a coherent family”, in the rehab of the Qasimiya University, amid a wide participation of experts and specialists from inside and outside the country.
The specialized workshops accompanying the conference, which numbered seven workshops, established a prominent professional presence and contributed to the formulation of qualitative outputs that support the future of social work and keep pace with the aspirations of Emirati society in its various fields.
Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Director of the Knowledge Office in the Department, stressed that the workshops accompanying the conference formed a basic pillar in achieving its goals, through specialized training programs that seek to raise the efficiency of workers and qualify them with advanced skills that are in line with the requirements of modern social work, including mental health issues, artificial intelligence techniques, and measuring the social impact, indicating that the selected topics came an accurate response to the needs of the sector, and the workshops were chosen Carefully to ensure the quality and richness of content, with the participation of specialized governmental and Gulf bodies, which strengthened the scientific and applied value of the conference.
The workshops varied between topics that included mechanisms of social observatories to support forward -looking policies, build indicators for measuring social impact, developing social research to enhance societal cohesion, the future of social services in light of artificial intelligence techniques, strategies for supporting mental and mental health, developing social media, and managing societal initiatives to achieve influence and sustainability.
During the workshops, Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Dakhil, an addiction processor and a family therapist from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressed the importance of building accurate indicators to measure the social impact and employ them in improving the efficiency of services, while Dr. Laila Al -Hayas, Executive Director of the Community Development Sector in the Community Development Department in Abu Dhabi spoke about the importance of social research in designing community policies, noting the Singapore experience as a pioneering model in this field.
Dr. Amal Ibrahim Ali, Assistant Professor at the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of Sharjah, touched on the future of social services in light of the development of artificial intelligence techniques, while Dr. Jassim Al Marzouqi, a consultant psychotherapy at Al Qasimi Hospital, focused on the importance of community awareness of mental health issues, and the need to develop preventive and treatment programs that respond to the needs of the groups most vulnerable to psychological pressures.
Ahmed Abdel Karim, head of the Family Guidance and Reform Department at Dubai Courts, presented a workshop in which he discussed the role of social media in promoting societal impact, stressing the importance of developing content to be in line with the aspirations of society and its vital issues.
The work of the second day was concluded with a workshop presented by the adviser, Eng. Othman bin Muhammad bin Hashem, the founder of “Stopping the Youth of the Good Nation for Voluntary Work” in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which dealt with best practices in managing community initiatives in a way that achieves the impact and guarantees the sustainability of giving, through strategic partnerships with various sectors.
