He said in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Museums, which falls on May 18 of each year, that Abu Dhabi has always been a unique civilization point of meeting, in which the worlds of East and West overlap, in which the legacy of the past is manifested with the aspirations of the future, and in which originality is integrated with ambitious visions, which makes this mixing a real expression of its identity as a society that was formed through a rich exchange of ideas, driven by cognitive curiosity, And composed of a firm belief in the ability of culture to inspire individuals and pay the progress of progress.
The celebration of the International Day of Museums added this year under the slogan “The future of museums in rapidly changed societies”, which reflects the essence of the current stage in which the pace of technology accelerates and increases global challenges, pointing to museums that are no longer just places that maintain ancient heritage; Rather, it allows seeing a human and historical heritage, plays a vital role in preserving and forming cultural heritage, and contributes to linking the past to the present and enhancing the understanding of reality in a deeper way, as it inspires creativity and enhances communication between cultures.
He pointed out that these values are the basis that directs the work of the cultural region in Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi, one of the largest cultural institutions in the world that embraces a group of major museums, institutions and global scientific cultural centers, within a common vision is to celebrate the constructive cultural dialogue, creative exploration, and the university human story that links us through time and space.
He stressed that the cultural area of Saadiyat provides a unique cultural vision for visitors; It allows them to explore the history and civilization of different cultures, and to inspire artistic and cultural creativity by displaying artistic and historical holdings.
His Excellency Muhammad Khalifa Al -Mubarak pointed out that the ambition of Abu Dhabi’s cultural strategy extends beyond the boundaries of the cultural region in the Saadiyat; The institutions, centers, and museums of the Department of Culture and Tourism throughout the emirate entrenched the importance of culture in shaping the identity of society and its daily life, in terms of the keenness of the rational leadership to preserve the history of our country and its cultural heritage and its ancient heritage, and it is highlighted to all members of society so that the link between them and their common past is not interrupted, pointing out that the Palace of Al -Hosn is the oldest existing edifice in Abu Dhabi. A living museum narrates the chapters of the capital’s development from a fortified monitoring tower to a vibrant global city, while both the Al Ain Museum, which was established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul in 1971, and the Al Ain Palace Museum, are standing and steadfast on our national identity, in addition to the Al -Mijiehi Palace, which has emerged in the hub of the UAE history.
