المملكة: With an increase of 15%.. 128 million passengers at the Kingdom’s airports during 2024

Today, the General Authority for Statistics issued the 2024 Air Transport Statistics bulletin, which showed remarkable growth in the movement of passengers and air freight through the Kingdom’s airports compared to 2023.
According to the results of the bulletin, the total number of passengers in the Kingdom’s airports reached more than 128 million passengers, an increase of 15% compared to the previous year.
The bulletin indicated that the number of international flight passengers exceeds 69 million passengers, up by 14% from 2023, while the number of domestic flights passengers reached more than 59 million passengers, an increase of 16% over 2023.

King Abdulaziz Airport

King Abdulaziz International Airport exported the list of airports in terms of the number of passengers, as it received approximately 49 million passengers, with a growth rate of 14%, followed by King Khalid International Airport, where the number of passengers and those coming through it reached 37.6 million passengers, with a growth rate of 18%, then King Fahd International Airport, which reached 12.8 million passengers with a growth rate of 15%.
The results also showed that the average daily number of passengers for domestic flights at the Kingdom’s airports reached about 162 thousand passengers, while the average daily passenger of international trips reached about 189 thousand passengers.
With regard to air freight, the bulletin revealed that the total shipping quantities amounted to 1.2 million tons during the year 2024, recording an increase of 34% compared to 2023, as March was the highest in terms of shipping volume by 123 thousand tons.

Trade aircraft fleet

The quantities of air shipping were distributed between the export shipping, which amounted to 64 thousand tons and the shipping received in quantities of 720 thousand tons, in addition to transit shipping, as it reached 407 thousand tons.
Regarding the fleet of aircraft, the results of the bulletin showed that the total number of aircraft operating in the Kingdom reached 361 aircraft in 2024, achieving 11% growth compared to 2023.
The fleet of commercial aircraft exported the number of aircraft, as it reached 258 aircraft, an increase of 12%, of which 97 aircraft with a capacity of more than 250 seats, while the number of public aircraft reached 103 aircraft, an increase of 7%.
