Bin Selim will run for the presidency of the International Motor Federation for a second period

The President of the International Automobile Federation, the Emirati Mohammed bin Selim, plans to run for the position for a second period of four years in December.
Bin Selim said that he welcomes any competitor candidate and strives to develop motorsport and increase the strength of the Federal Federation Federation for Formula 1.
In his speech to Reuters on the sidelines of the Monaco Grand Prix, he indicated that he had taken the decision, which was widely expected, after consulting with members of the International Motor Federation.
“Do you know, I feel that spending three years in a complicated federation like the International Motor Federation is not enough,” said the former rally driver, 63, while speaking publicly for the first time about running for his re -election.
He said that he is proud of what was achieved during his term and does not see any reason he pushes to do anything different the second time.
“Do I need more time? Yes. Was it easy? never. Was it fun? sometimes”.
“So, I will run,” he added. I consulted with most members. I talk to them. ”
He said he wanted to “continue developing motorsport.” And that the International Motor Federation becomes stronger and stronger. This is my ambition and this is what I will achieve. ”
He pointed out that the International Automobile Federation, which owns the Formula 1 championship, was “” disregard “, which mainly owns the Formula 1 championship, although long -term commercial rights owned by Liberty Media.
“Increased deals were granted to the International Motor Federation,” he said. It is unreasonable for me to make one driver (in Formula 1) and the director of one team with money that exceeds the entire federation’s funds while the International Motor Federation has the championship. Is this just? ”
