Sharjah, June 28/ WAM/ Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in Khor Fakkan yesterday evening, witnessed the opening of the fourth session of the Khorfakkan Mango Festival 2025 organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Municipal Council in Khor Fakkan and its municipality under the slogan “Mango our fruit is our fortune” and lasts for three days at the Expo Khorfakkan Center in a copy that is the most prominent with the participation of more than the participation 33 farmers and a number of companies specialized in agriculture and fertilization, as well as participating delegations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Pakistan and Uganda.
The opening was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al -Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Muhammad Saeed Sultan Al -Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al -Murbi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Khorfakkan, and His Excellency Faisal Niyaz Tarmti, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the state along with a number of officials.
After the opening, Sheikh Saeed bin Saqr Al -Qasimi, accompanied by the attendees, wandered by the festival and reviewed the offers of the states of the state from more than 150 varieties of mangoes and listened to an explanation about the most prominent agricultural products that Khorfakkan and the eastern region were demonstrated by the great development witnessed by the mango and other crop cultivation and the growing interest in it as an important economic tributary For the Emirate of Sharjah.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais stressed that the festival achieved a qualitative leap by attracting international participation that contributes to the exchange of experiences and best international practices in cultivating mango, indicating that this development represents a direct reflection of the vision and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah to enhance the status of the agricultural sector as a basic pillar in the emirate’s economy.
He added: “We are working in this session to translate our slogan“ Mango our fruit our wealth ”into a tangible reality by enabling farmers by innovation and adopting smart and sustainable agricultural techniques and moving from celebrating the increase in mango production to raising its competitiveness and turning it into an economic tributary that effectively contributes to achieving the targets of the national food security strategy 2051 so every mango tree is planted in modern methods towards strengthening Our self -sufficiency and sustainable development. ”
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al -Murbi affirmed the commitment of the municipal council to support local farmers, encourage environmental tourism, create new job opportunities for young people, enhance heritage industries and handicrafts that characterize the city of Khor, noting that the festival celebrates the local identity of the city and its heritage character that is strengthened through the sustainability of societal interest in agriculture, contributing to the quality of life, stimulating environmental tourism and supporting food security alongside Documenting the link of the new generations to their ancient agricultural heritage, which they inherited from generation after generation to deepen their affiliation with their good land, which has become the finest types of mangoes and other fruits, explaining that the festival provides fruitful opportunities for families produced by farmers, craftsmen and owners of small and medium enterprises, which enhances the local economy and supports self -sufficiency for society.
Khalil Mohamed Al -Mansoori, director of the Expo Khorfakkan Center, pointed out that the festival encourages a new generation of agricultural entrepreneurs to complete the ancestral march with the future tools, pointing out that success in attracting visitors and those interested from outside the country establishes the position of Khor Fakkan and the eastern region is a unique agricultural destination, which proves that preserving the inheritance can be in itself a strong motivation for growth and prosperity.
He said that the teams of Expo Khorfakkan were keen to provide an integrated infrastructure and an ideal show platform that accommodates the large growth in the number of participants, especially with the expansion of receiving exhibitors from outside the country and worked to prepare good to present an exceptional version this year befitting the reputation of the event and the position of the city of Khorfakkan, which embraces many agricultural and economic events in the eastern region and the Manjo Festival is one of the most prominent.

The first day witnessed the launch of the “Best Farmers Corner Competition” and continues throughout the event and depends on the audience’s evaluation, in addition to organizing the “Mango Mango” competition and the “Great Mango” competition in a competitive atmosphere among farmers.
Today, Saturday, “Saturday” witnessed the organization of the “most beautiful mango basket” competition for families and allocates the activities of the last day for children through the “most beautiful agricultural video clip” directed to the age group from 7 to 12 years.
