Urgent .. Learn the most prominent amendments to the Youth Committee in the House of Representatives to the Sports Law
Encouraging local and foreign sports investment and allowing the establishment of sports services
The Joint Committee was held by the Youth and Sports Committee and the Office of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee today. The law submitted by the government to amend some provisions of the Sports Law issued by Law No. 71 of 2017 in accordance with the copy submitted by the government in 2021.
The committee discussed the articles of the draft law submitted by the government, and made a number of amendments to it in addition to making many other amendments to the articles of the Sports Law in agreement between the members of the committee and the Minister of Youth and Sports. To support and encourage local and foreign sports investment in Egypt by facilitating the procedures for establishing sports services companies, as the amendments included allowing the establishment of sports services companies in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Law, in which the sports authority contributes at a rate of no less than 51⁒ from the company’s capital in conjunction with its members or investors, and it is permissible to combine the membership of the Board of Directors of the Sports Authority and the Board of Directors of the Sports Services Company that is established by that body without charge. Removing many of the problems in the existing sport law and addressing interference in some specializations, without interfering in the affairs of sports bodies, stipulating the provision of the necessary financial credits to pay the amounts due to sports bodies in cases that require that, and set an integrated organization for the settlement and sports arbitration to end sports disputes arising from the application of the provisions of the Sports Law. The assessment of the crime of infringement on sports bodies and facilities, the crimes of insults, defamation, urbanization, hate and discrimination during or on sports activity, and other crimes negatively affecting sports activity. Which was introduced by the committee on the Sports Law, especially the addition of a special section related to the Egyptian Sports Settlement and Arbitration Center, to end sports disputes arising from the application of the provisions of the law, stressing the Ministry’s intention to submit a full memorandum to the committee that includes any other amendments that the government sees on the Sports Law in preparation for the committee’s approval of it permanently in its subsequent meetings.
