A penalty shootout saves America from Costa Rica

The penalty shootout saved the United States from the early exit, and gave it the transit card to the semi -finals of the Golden Cup of the North, Central and Caribbean Football Association (Conakakaf), after its exciting victory over the Costa Rica team.
The American team settled the meeting in favor of (4-3) on penalties, after the end of the original time with a tie (2-2), in the confrontation that was held in the quarter-finals of the continental competition currently held in the United States and Canada.
The Costa Rican national team took early by Francisco Calvo from a penalty kick in the minute (12), but Diego Luna realized the tie for the Americans, after he compensated the penalty kick by his colleague Malik Tillaman in the minute (37).
In the second half, Maximilian Erfinstein strengthened the progress of the American team scoring the second goal in the 47th minute, before Alonzo Martinez returns Costa Rica to the atmosphere of the meeting by scoring the equalizer in the minute (71), so the two teams resort to the penalty shootout that eventually smiled to the owners of the land.
The American team set a date in the semi -finals with the Guatemala team, which detonated a surprise of the high caliber by excluding Canada by penalty shootout earlier in the same day.
The winner of the American and Guatemala meeting will face the championship final, the winner of the other semi -final confrontation between the teams of Mexico and Honduras.
