Wafia Al -Maamari: The fourth title in the Emirates Chess Championship is an incentive to continue the achievements

Al Ain on July 14/ WAM/ International Professor Wafia Darwish Al -Maamari, Al Ain Club and Mental Club player, confirmed that her victory in the Emirates Championship for the fourth time is a strong motivation for more strong achievements in the upcoming posts.

The Emirates champion succeeded in winning the women’s title yesterday in the championship organized by the Emirates Chess Federation in the Sharjah Chess Club Hall, with the participation of 23 players, after the lead was settled with 8 points from 9 rounds.

Al -Maamari, 21, announced that she is looking to participate in the 2027 Women’s World Championship, after completing the study of civil engineering in London, due to the great importance it represents, and a global platform to compete for titles with the presence of the elite of the heroes, explaining that there are many upcoming championships under study with the club, and coach Giorgi Sibashvili.

Al -Maamari expected that the efforts taking place now from the Emirates Chess and Clubs Federation will be fruitful in expanding the scope of the game, especially after schools set a strategic goal to develop students, explaining that the Al Ain region is witnessing a wide movement in this aspect in light of the great interaction with Al Ain Club plans and programs to organize various tournaments and events.

It is noteworthy that during her career, Al -Mamari achieved great achievements, most notably the title of the President of the State in the years 2018, 2019, and 2022, in addition to the title of the Emirates Championship 4 times in 2015, 2018, 2023 and 2025.

The Gold of the Gulf Women’s Championship “Kuwait 2023”, the Arab Championship U -16 Championship “Jordan 2019”, the Arab Championship U -14 Championship, “Emirates 2018”, and the Arab Bronze U -12 “Jordan 2014”.

At the Asian level, Al -Maamari won the bronze of Asia under 9 years of “India 2013”, the West Asian Chess Championship for Girls Under 14 years, “Emirates 2018”, the Asian Amateur Championship “Emirates 2023”, and the Asia Amateur Championship “Emirates 2024”.

Globally, Al -Ma’amari succeeded in winning the World Championship Championships in the kidnapped chess “Kazakhstan 2024”, and the bronze of the World Amateur Championship “Greece 2022”, in addition to the bronze of the Chess Olympics for the Class Class “India 2022”.

It is also the first Emirati to participate in the Women’s World Cup “Azerbaijan 2023”, the representation of the state in the Georgia 2018 Olympics, the India Olympics “2022”, and to participate in the Asian games within the “China 2022” team.
