Spain supports its investments in Mauritania with 200 million euros

Nouakchott on July 17 / WAM / The Spanish government announced yesterday evening the allocation of a financial package of 200 million euros to support its investments in Mauritania, and the launch of the “Qantara” digital platform to be a direct bridge between economic actors in the two countries.

This came at the conclusion of the work of the first high -level meeting between the two countries, which included the organization of the Mauritanian -Spanish Business Council, which was attended by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Al -Ghazwani and the Spanish Prime Minister “Pedro Sanchez”.
She told the Mauritanian News Agency that the closing session witnessed concrete advertisements and pledges.
“Sanchez” revealed in a speech that the 200 million euros package is distributed between loans for green projects, financing feasibility studies, and tools for risk covering, and facilitating the implementation of projects, especially in the field of energy transformation.
He announced that his country will appoint from September 1, its first economic and commercial representative in Mauritania.
In turn, the Mauritanian President stressed that his country provides a wide range of promising investment opportunities in productive sectors such as hunting, agriculture, animal development, extractive and mining industries, and infrastructure of roads, bridges, airports and public buildings, as well as in the services, gas, and mineral sectors.
