"Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority" It strengthens the association of young people with cultural heritage through its summer program
Abu Dhabi, August 21/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority is organizing the heritage summer program during the month of August, as part of its continuous efforts to protect the national heritage, its color and transfer to future generations through educational and interactive programs that enhance the values of national identity as a major element in deepening societal affiliation.
The program targets two categories, two years old, and from the age of 10 years and over, and includes three main courses: teaching and practicing the art of olive, teaching and practicing folk games, in addition to teaching and practicing the art of dealing with traditional water and diving, under the supervision of a group of experts in heritage arts.
The program aims to consolidate the national values associated with Emirati heritage, and to enhance societal cohesion by involving the emerging generations in practical activities that allow them to identify the elements of the original heritage in an application and interactive manner.
The program seeks to encourage the participation of young people in heritage events in a way that contributes to promoting awareness of national identity and affirming the importance of heritage as an essential element in the life of Emirati society and its historical memory.
Since its inception, the program has witnessed a wide turnout from the youth and youth categories, and a remarkable interaction from the participants who found an ideal opportunity to discover the components of Emirati heritage and get to know them through a living educational experience that contributes to linking the past to the present, as well as filling in the summer vacation times in a way that benefits them with interest and intellectual, cultural and behavioral benefit.
The organization of this program comes within the active role of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority in supporting and enhancing national heritage by consolidating authentic heritage values and behaviors in society, highlighting the importance of intangible cultural heritage is an essential pillar in building national identity, and enhancing pride in the civilizational heritage of the state generation after generation.
