Cass is expected to make its decision before Saturday, the date of its first participation in the 1500m race qualifiers in Tokyo.
Weltiji, who ranked fourth in the Paris Olympiad last summer, was absent from competitions since July in the meeting of the American Eugene (Eugene), where it achieved its best personal time, 3: 51.44 minutes, to occupy the second place behind the Kenyan Feith Kepeegon, which broke the world record.
