Mansour bin Zayed issues a decision to adopt 74 new economic activities that can be practiced on agricultural lands

Abu Dhabi, September 12/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Bureau, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, issued Resolution No. (5) of 2025, which provides for amending some provisions of Resolution No. (3) of 2023 regarding the practice of economic activities on farms.
The decision in Article (2) stipulated that 74 economic activities to be added to the list of economic activities allowed to be practiced on farms, bringing the total of 145 accredited economic activities allowed to be practiced on farms.

The new economic activities group allowed to be practiced on farms is located within 6 categories, where the decision added 41 plant production activities, 9 supportive activities of plant production activities, 8 supportive food activities, 12 supportive industrial activities, activities within the category of supportive activities, and activities within the category of entertainment activities.
The decision in Article (1) stipulated the following: Article 2 of Article (5) in Resolution No. 3 of 2023 regarding the practice of economic activities in the farms in the following text: “The construction space used in the practice of economic activities should not exceed the prescribed area of ​​the competent authority in the emirate.”
Item 3 of Article (5) is replaced in the aforementioned decision: “The property of farms or installations licensed in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi may practice economic activities on farms, provided that the farm is used according to the purposes allocated to it.”
His Excellency Dr. Tariq Ahmed Al -Amri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Agricultural and Food Safety Authority, said that the decision comes within the framework of the efforts of the Economic Activities Committee on farms, which was formed under the direction of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and includes in its membership the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

He explained that the committee worked to enhance the benefit from farms, and to expand the scope of economic activities that can be implemented on farms, as well as organizing and facilitating the practice of entertainment and tourism activities in it, which contributes to converting the farm into a successful investment project and an educational, recreational and heritage experience that supports the tourism sector in the emirate.
His Excellency added that the decision reflects the support of the rational leadership, and falls within the strategy of the authority aimed at expanding economic activities that can be practiced on farms, in a way that promotes the food security system, and raises the level of local and animal local production, as well as supporting agricultural tourism by allowing the practice of some entertainment activities.

He explained that the authority is working in coordination with the government agencies concerned with organizing, licensing and controlling to ensure the achievement of the desired goals, in line with Abu Dhabi’s vision for sustainable development, and enhances its position as a leading center for agricultural and economic innovation.
His Excellency revealed that Resolution No. (3) of 2023 regarding the practice of economic activities on farms contributed to the benefit of 482 farms, of which 333 farms obtained new licenses to carry out various economic activities, and 120 farms have modified their existing licenses, in addition to granting permits for 29 farms to practice holiday homes activity, which reflects tangible success in activating investment Agricultural and entertainment.
He affirmed that the competent government agencies are making great efforts to facilitate the procedures for organization, licensing, classification, control and inspection, according to the legislation in force in the emirate, to ensure the sustainability of these successes and enhance comprehensive development.
