Abu Dhabi hosts the “NBA” basketball academy for the first time

For the first time, the capital, Abu Dhabi, hosts the activities of NBA basketball, the event organized by the National Association of American Basketball, with the aim of highlighting the most prominent young talents from various NBA academies around the world.

The event will be held, from September 25 to 27th, at New York University Abu Dhabi, during which 4 of the most prominent youth football development programs around the world, the NBA Africa Academy, the Australian Sinspa of Express, the French Academy, and the American IG Asander Elytit Academy.

“Since 2022, our cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has a pivotal factor in accelerating basketball growth in the region, and making the capital a major center in the region,” said Nile Mayer, Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations in Europe and the Middle East at the American National Basketball Association.

He added, “The advanced infrastructure, the commitment to sponsoring the youth generation, and the global vision of Abu Dhabi, has contributed together to making it the best site to host this first event of its kind.”

The event comes a few days before Abu Dhabi’s hosting of the New York Nix and Philadelphia Seven Sixers on October 2 and 4 in Al -Ittihad Arena, in two preparatory matches in the American Professional Basketball League matches.
