& nbsp; Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, received the government headquarters on Qasr Al -Aini Street; His Majesty King Felipe VI, King of Spain, and the high -ranking delegation accompanying His Majesty, on the occasion of the visit of the state by His Majesty to the Arab Republic of Egypt. The meeting was attended by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, Engineer Hassan Al -Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Ambassador Ihab Badawi, Egypt’s ambassador to Spain, and Ambassador Wael Hamed, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for European Affairs. Dr. Mustafa Madbouly pointed to the interest that the Egyptian state attaches to attracting foreign direct investments, noting to the boom that Egypt has witnessed over the past ten years in the field of infrastructure, including the road network and the development of ports and the construction of private industrial areas, foremost of which is the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which can witness Spanish investments in this vital and strategic location that can represent a portal for the enforcement of Spanish products into different Countries and geographical regions with which Egypt is related to free and preferred trade agreements, whether in the Arab region or the African continent, as well as the presence of great opportunities and areas to expand the scope of partnership between the two countries, especially in the areas of infrastructure, transportation, water, renewable energy and electrical connection, welcoming the involvement of a number of Spanish companies in the energy sector projects and green hydrogen production. The Prime Minister also welcomed the pace of bilateral cooperation between the two countries over the past years, especially in the field of attracting investments, as the volume of Spanish investments in Egypt amounted to 882.93 million euros (until July 2024), expressing the desire to build on successful experiences of joint cooperation projects similar to the boom in cooperation in the field of transportation and communication as a vital sector that provides direct services to the Egyptian citizen, as well as in a production project Plasma and circulating these experiences to withdraw in many different areas, including joint industrialization and agricultural investment, stressing the importance the Egyptian state attaches to localizing many industries and increasing the local component in various projects implemented by Spanish companies in Egypt. & Nbsp; Dr. Mustafa Madbouly also expressed Egypt’s interest in achieving more development and revitalization of cooperation in the tourism field between the two countries, and to benefit from Spanish experience as a major tourism country, pointing out that this was reflected in the keenness to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Spanish side of cooperation in this field, especially since tourism is one of the pillars of the Egyptian economy that generates hard currency. Spain, as one of the important commercial partners of Egypt within the European Union, confirming its intention to work to double the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Spain during the coming period, especially in light of the relative geographical proximity and direct navigation lines, in addition to supporting relations with Spain in many areas of common concern. During the meeting, His Majesty King Felipe VI expressed his appreciation for the current visit to Egypt and the warm reception, stressing that the rapid action must be to support cooperation in many fields and support the strategic partnership between the two countries. The King of Spain also expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister’s participation in the Fourth International Conference on Finance for Development held in Seville, Spain during the period from June 30 to July 3, 2025.

The King of Spain praised the important and historical relations that Spain links Egypt, and the cooperation existing in various fields between them, as well as the important relations that Egypt enjoys with the European Union. The King of Spain noted the existing cooperation relations between the European Union and the neighboring countries, including Egypt, as well as the importance of its support in various fields, especially in light of what connects the two sides as from the countries of the Mediterranean region. He pointed out that Spain provides the necessary support to UNRWA in light of the important role it plays towards Palestinian refugees, and stressed the importance of reaching a ceasefire, and allowing the introduction of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. We refuse to displace the Palestinian people from their land. He stressed that the two -state solution and the recognition of peace is the only way to settle the Palestinian -Israeli conflict, and that Egypt supports the right of the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights, especially its right to self -determination, through the independence of its state on the fourth lines of June 1967, and its capital, East Jerusalem, adding that this is the only solution, and there are no other solutions to the Palestinian issue.
