The UAE -Korean Business Council discusses the formation of sectoral work teams

Abu Dhabi, September 22 / WAM / The first meeting of the UAE Business Council, organized by the Emirates Chambers Union in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Chamber and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Abu Dhabi, discussed the formation of sectoral work teams in the areas of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, content industries, energy, and advanced manufacturing, as well as developing and enhancing business relations between the two friendly countries.
The meeting was attended by the Emirati side, His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Vice President of the UAE Chambers Union, President of Sharjah Chamber, President of the UAE side of the Business Council, His Excellency Ali Mohamed Al Marzouqi, Director of Abu Dhabi Chamber, and His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al -Awadi, Director of Sharjah Chamber, while His Excellency His Excellency Jin Sick Yun, President of the Korean International Trade Association, attended, along with representatives of 65 entities and company from the two countries.
Al -Owais stressed the importance of the joint Emirati -Korean relations, which is a distinguished model for strategic partnership based on mutual respect and common interests, stressing that during the past decades it witnessed a remarkable development in various fields, especially in the sectors of technology, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, food security, and other vital sectors.
He said that the meeting represents an ideal platform to enhance direct dialogue between the business community in both countries.
He explained that the UAE has established an economic model based on openness, diversification, and active international partnerships, which was clearly reflected in the growth of its non -oil foreign trade, which during the first half of 2025 amounted to about 1.7 trillion dirhams, achieving 24.5% compared to the same period last year, confirming the state’s status as a pioneering commercial and investment center at the global level.
Al -Owais praised the strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea, due to its vital geographical location that links East Asia to the global markets, as well as an advanced digital economy and a stimulating business environment, which makes it an ideal partner in many future sectors.
For his part, His Excellency Jin Sick Yun, President of the Korean International Trade Association, stressed that the United Arab Emirates is the first strategic partner of Korea in the Middle East, noting that the Business Council will be the platform through which companies continue to create concrete opportunities for cooperation and lead future industries on the global scene.
He added that Korea, thanks to its advanced technological capabilities and its extensive experience for more than half a century in economic growth, will be an ideal partner in achieving the national vision of the United Arab Emirates.
