19 positive “binding” behavior for teachers inside schools

The Department of Education and Knowledge obligated Abu Dhabi Schools to integrate six ethical criteria within the rules of school behavior that include 19 positive behaviors that must be adhered to.

The criteria included respect for the national identity and Emirati cultural values, adherence to good relations with co -workers, the commitment of educators to government laws and regulations, follow -up of proper practices in digital activities, and community protection, in addition to enhancing integrated safety in the school and society.

She explained that the purpose of the criteria is to create a solid basis for moral and professional behavior in schools that fall within the authority of the department by providing a clear vision for employees about the expected behavior of them, and ensuring their interaction regularly with students with the aim of participating in individual and group responsibility to ensure effective education.

The behaviors set by the criteria included: showing respect for individuals from different religious, ethnic or cultural backgrounds, taking the necessary measures to ensure that the classrooms and other workplaces are free of discrimination, the treatment of students and colleagues equally including students with anxiety and people with additional educational needs, encouraging and supporting colleagues to adopt high professional standards and adhere to them, and cooperation with teachers Others contribute to enhancing a positive and supportive professional environment for all, and helping to prepare and direct new teachers through guidance and guidance.

Behavior included adherence to honesty and integrity during work, awareness of the laws, regulations and policies of the UAE related to their work and commitment to them, and obtaining a work permit as a private teacher according to the requirements of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratis The reliability of digital information, and in the use of artificial intelligence techniques in a responsible and moral manner, and to help students understand what electronic bullying is and how to determine whether they are victims or participate in it as a perpetrator.

The behaviors also included avoiding plagiarism, intellectual theft, monitoring the use of stolen materials in students ’work, implementing positive corrective measures, informing the authorities concerned when identifying an incident or suspicion of ill -treatment for students or employees, spreading awareness about best practices with students to determine and report ill -treatment, and to ensure that the classrooms and school building are safe places for students, and allocate time to volunteer in issues Social and encourage students to do the same, and contribute to environmental initiatives and sustainability and motivate students to participate, in addition to participating in continuous professional development activities to improve interaction with society and contribute to it.

The department stressed that the lack of compliance with this policy will expose the school to legal accountability and the penalties applied in accordance with the regulations, policies and requirements for the department, without prejudice to the penalties imposed by the law, and the Department of Education and Knowledge reserves the right to intervene if the school violates its obligations.
