Al-Azhar University is included among the top 1000 universities in the world

Al-Azhar University appeared in the Times World Classification for the year 2026 among the top 1,000 universities in the world. The classification included (2,191) universities and educational institutions from 115 countries around the world.
The appearance of Al-Azhar University in this classification comes with great support from His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
For his part, His Eminence Dr. Salama Gomaa Daoud, President of the University, praised the outstanding results. achieved by Al-Azhar University in the Times Higher Education World Classification for the year 2026 AD, stressing that this achievement reflects the continuous development in the performance of the graduate studies and research sector at the university. Based on the universality of Al-Azhar’s mission, which extends to about 1,085 years of giving in various scientific fields.
Dr. Mahmoud Siddiq, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, added that this progress is not only a scientific achievement; Rather, it reflects a qualitative development in the academic and research performance of Al-Azhar University, explaining that the university’s appearance in this year’s Times classification reflects the positive vision Which the university follows in supporting the international scientific research system and publishing research that has contributed significantly to raising the level of its classification.
Siddiq stated that the classification included Al-Azhar University among 9 Egyptian universities in this year’s 2026 classification, pointing out that Al-Azhar University’s progress in the 2026 Times classification reflects the continuous development in academic and research performance and translates the efforts made by the center. International excellence and institutional development, headed by Dr. Yasser Helmy, Director of the Center, and his team working with him towards the advancement and advancement of scientific research as it is the true engine of development. It is noteworthy that the Times World University Rankings are based on 17 indicators covering various educational, research and applied aspects.
