" Sharjah Heritage Institute" It celebrates the contributions of Emirati women to preserving traditional crafts

Sharjah, 11th October / WAM / Through the “Nakshat Al-Nun” activities held in the heritage village in the city of Dibba Al-Hisn, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage celebrates the contributions of Emirati women in preserving traditional crafts and passing them on to generations, and highlighting their role in preserving intangible cultural heritage through interactive activities, workshops and programs that combine education, fun and creativity.

The event witnessed a wide turnout by visitors from different age groups, and the accompanying activities varied between a photo exhibition of Emirati crafts, a productive families corner, and heritage restaurants, in addition to the participation of the women of Dibba Al-Hisn in presenting the letters of Talli, Safafa, and dyeing clothes.

While the Children’s Corner attracted special attention due to the heritage and cultural workshops it presented that sought to instill a love of heritage in young people.

As part of the program, a dialogue session was held entitled “Authenticity passed down from mothers,” which discussed the role of women in the past, their methods of raising children, and their authentic values ​​that contributed to building society.

Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, President of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, confirmed that the event embodies the vision of the Institute to highlight the role of Emirati women as preservers of heritage and transmitters of authentic values, pointing out that Dibba Al-Hisn has become an important station in the Emirati heritage scene with the qualitative initiatives it provides.

For her part, Hind Al-Awani, Director of the Institute’s branch in Dibba Al-Hisn, explained that “Nakshat Al-Nun” represents a creative space that highlights the skills of women craftsmen and supports the sustainability of traditional professions, stressing the branch’s keenness to enhance the participation of the local community in all heritage programs.
