The women’s team faces South Africa in the African Championship

The first women’s national hockey team will play a strong confrontation, today, Sunday, against the South African national team, in the second round of the first round of the African Cup of Nations, currently being held in Ismailia.

The Egypt-South Africa match is scheduled to be held at 5 p.m., at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia.

The national team lost in the first round of the group stage to the Ghana national team. With a score of (1-8).

The women’s competitions are held in the African Hockey Cup of Nations with the participation of five teams: Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana.

The tournament witnesses the return of the Egyptian women’s national team after an absence of eight years, as its last participation was in the 2017 edition.

The continental championship is of special importance as it is the twelfth edition of the men’s championship. And ninth for women, she also qualifies for the 2026 World Championships scheduled to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands.
