Video: Activities of the eighth Cairo Water Week

The opening session of the eighth Cairo Water Week began this Sunday morning, and the activities will continue until Thursday, October 16, under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The eighth Cairo Water Week is held under the title “Innovative Solutions to Enhance Climate Resilience and Sustainability of Water Resources,” in the presence of a large number of officials, experts and decision-makers from various countries of the world.
Water Week is organized annually in Cairo to exchange experiences and enhance cooperation in order to achieve water security and sustainable development globally, as well as to advance the common agenda in the field of water.
The agenda of Water Week in its eighth edition this year focuses on five main themes: cooperation, climate action, innovation, nature-based solutions, and sustainable infrastructure.
The total number of international and regional organizations participating in the week reached 95 international organizations, in addition to organizing 125 sessions within the week’s activities.
The Scientific Committee of Cairo Water Week had received 203 research summaries distributed over the five themes of the week. 49 research papers and long summaries were accepted in the final stage.
Five scientific sessions are scheduled to present 34 research papers, in addition to a special session to display 15 posters, to provide an interactive platform for exchanging ideas and research results among participants.
The activities of the eighth Cairo Water Week include a number of competitions, including “The Three-Minute Thesis” To present master’s and doctoral theses in three minutes, 12 contestants from Egypt, China and Kenya were qualified to compete.
And the “Best Graduation Projects” competition Six projects from the universities of Ain Shams, Cairo, Heliopolis, Nile, Mansoura, and Helwan were qualified to compete.
The “Young Innovators in the Water Field” competition is also being organized, and 5 projects from “STEM” schools have qualified."AR-EG">” For those who excel in science and technology.
Also, 5 videos and 5 posters from 5 universities qualified for the “On the Cod” initiative competition, in addition to 5 distinct experiences from the governorates of Dakahlia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Fayoum, Minya, and Aswan were selected to be presented in a special session of the eighth national competition for rationalizing water consumption – Farmers Competition.
The exhibition accompanying the week’s activities is witnessing an increasing demand. 22 companies and organizations reserved spaces to display the latest solutions and technologies in the fields of water and climate, thus enhancing opportunities for knowledge exchange and cooperation between various sectors.
