700 players in the Republic Chess Championship at the Olympic Center in Maadi
Major General Mokhtar Emara, President of the Egyptian Chess Federation, announced the launch of the Open Republic Championship for all ages, for all ages, at the Olympic Center in Maadi.
The Republic Championship will be held from October 11 to 18 at the Olympic Center in Maadi. The tournament will witness Classic, Rapid, and Blades competitions with the participation of 700 male and female players of all ages and all competitions.
Major General Mukhtar Amara confirmed that the tournament is witnessing wide participation from all ages, which is The Federation aims to spread the game throughout the Republic.
Ammara added that the Federation is keen to spread the game and select distinguished elements to represent the Egyptian national team in international forums.
Ammara continued that the tournament represents a golden opportunity to discover new talents in the game of chess, noting that the Federation has drawn up a long plan. Al Mada aims to qualify distinguished players technically and mentally, to be a strong nucleus for Egypt’s national teams in various categories.
He explained that the Federation is working to develop training and refereeing cadres in parallel with developing the players, stressing that the large participation in the tournament reflects the growing interest in the game within Egypt.
The President of the Federation concluded his statements by emphasizing that the competitions are held amid distinguished organization and careful technical supervision, ensuring that the tournament emerges in the best possible way, with full compliance with the regulations of the International Chess Federation.
