The women’s hockey team continues its journey in the African Cup of Nations

The women’s hockey team continued its downfall in the African Cup of Nations, currently being held in Ismailia with the participation of 11 teams in the men’s and women’s competitions.

 

The women’s team suffered a new loss in the second round of the group stage against the South African team with a score of (0-10), continuing the series of heavy defeats.

The team was The national team lost in the first round of the group stage to Ghana’s national team with a score of (1-8).

The women’s competitions in the African Hockey Cup of Nations are held with the participation of five teams: Egypt, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana.

The tournament witnesses the return of the Egyptian women’s national team after an absence of eight years, as its last participation was in 2017 edition.

The continental championship is of special importance as it is the twelfth edition of the men’s tournament and the ninth for women. It is also a qualifier for the 2026 World Championship, scheduled to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands.
