Uzbekistan Tanchav officiates the decisive match between the UAE and Qatar in the World Cup playoff

The Asian Football Confederation announced the appointment of an entirely Uzbek refereeing team to lead the upcoming confrontation between the Qatari and UAE national teams, scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, (9:15 pm UAE time) at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, as part of the Asian playoff qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals.
The match will be led by international referee Elger Tanchaev, assisted by Andrey Tsabenko as first assistant, and Timur Genoldin as second assistant, while Rustam Lutfiilin is the fourth official.
The Continental Union assigned the task of video technology (VAR) to Uzbekistan’s Akrul Ryskuldiyev, with the assistance of Fidavs Nosavarov.
Ilgir Tanchav is considered one of the most prominent Uzbek referees in recent years, and has held the international badge since 2015.
He participated in managing a number of important matches in the AFC Champions League and World Cup qualifiers, in addition to matches in the Paris Olympics and the Youth World Cup currently being held in Chile, and is known for his strict approach to law enforcement.
The Uzbek referee previously officiated the return match between Al Ain and Yokohama Marinos in the 2023-2024 AFC Champions League final, in which the Emirati leader won the title.
