United Nations: The Sharm El-Sheikh Summit will be a starting point for our future steps

 Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, confirmed that the international organization will rely on the results and outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit as a starting point for setting its future steps, noting that ensuring the continuity of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is the highest priority at this stage.

Haq explained, in his statements to the Cairo News Channel, on Monday, that the United Nations seeks to strengthen unity. And solidarity within the Security Council in order to support the peace process, and work with all parties involved in diplomatic efforts.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations expressed his gratitude for the pivotal role played by Egypt, Qatar and Turkey in mediating to reach the agreement, stressing that the United Nations will build on these efforts to ensure the implementation of the summit’s outcomes on the ground.
