During our visit to the “E&Emirates” pavilion at the “GITEX Global 2025” exhibition, we met Abdullah Al-Ahmad, who bears the responsibility of formulating and activating the government relations strategy, ensuring complete compatibility between the goals of “E&Emirates” and national policy directions. E&Emirates’ presence at GITEX goes beyond presenting to creating the future
Abdullah Al-Ahmad led E&Emirates’ efforts in concluding a number of qualitative agreements with government agencies and institutions, including the areas of sovereign artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, smart cities, and the industrial Internet of Things. The pavilion witnessed high-level visits from ministers, government officials and institutional leaders. They had the opportunity to explore E&Emirates’ projects in sovereign artificial intelligence, smart connectivity, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital transformation of vital sectors, amid direct interaction with the group’s innovation and engineering teams.
Institutional trust and making government alliances
Through his executive role, Abdullah Al-Ahmad is keen to support national initiatives and enable digital sovereignty, and align E&Emirates projects with national initiatives, especially in the areas of digital sovereignty and enabling local artificial intelligence. He has contributed to launching a number of joint initiatives with government agencies, aiming to enhance data hosting locally, develop technical solutions that take into account national privacy, and support the country’s readiness to face future challenges. The most prominent of these is coordinating efforts with the Cybersecurity Council to adopt the sovereign launch platform for the United Arab Emirates, which is one of the fruits of cooperation between “E&” and Amazon Web Services, and is charged with paving the way for a new era of Public cloud adoption in the UAE, which is expected to add a cumulative value of $181 billion to the country’s digital economy by 2033.
Al-Ahmad emphasized, saying: “Our responsibility is not limited to providing technical solutions, but also includes supporting national policies and enabling government agencies to benefit from our innovation capabilities, ensuring the achievement of the country’s goals in building a sustainable knowledge economy based on trust and digital sovereignty.”

Al-Ahmad leads an integrated system of government relations, in which national visions are translated into ambitious digital projects. Al-Ahmad played a major role in announcing the initiatives of the “Hasanatuk” system and developing the smart services related to it. It is a smart early fire warning system for residential homes, which detects the fire, raises an alarm, and sends an alert to the Civil Defense command center for rapid response. It has become mandatory to implement the “Hasanatuk” system in all residential homes in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which represents a significant shift. Quality in enhancing prevention and safety standards within the building permit system in the emirate.
As Al-Ahmad explains, E&Emirates provided program participants with comprehensive guidance on how to employ modern technologies in designing smart homes, including security systems such as “Hassantuk,” energy conservation solutions, and smart facility control technologies, pointing out that investing in technology contributes to reducing electricity and water bills and achieving tangible financial savings in the long term.
Institutional innovation begins with dialogue and is built on trust
Al-Ahmad’s most prominent responsibilities are to launch constructive dialogues on digital policies, overcome regulatory challenges, and create an enabling environment for testing and applying modern technologies such as private networks and artificial intelligence in vital sectors.
Legislative empowerment is considered one of Al-Ahmad’s most notable achievements. He leads ongoing dialogues with regulatory bodies to formulate flexible and secure legislative frameworks for future technologies. He played a pivotal role in developing policies that regulate the work of unmanned aerial vehicles, ensure cybersecurity for advanced networks such as the fifth generation, and set standards for the use of sovereign artificial intelligence, which strengthens the state’s digital sovereignty and builds the confidence of the public and private sectors in dealing with emerging technologies.
