Morocco national team reaches the final of the U-20 World Cup after the arrest of the “French rooster”

The Moroccan national team reached the final of the U-20 World Cup in football for the first time in its history, after defeating France on penalties 5-4 after they tied 1-1 in regular and extra time (Thursday dawn UAE time) in Chile.
While substitute goalkeeper Abdelhakim Mesbahi excelled in the penalty shootout, the “Atlas Cubs” seek to win the title on Sunday against Argentina, which defeated Colombia 1-0.
This is the second time that an Arab team has reached the final of the tournament, after Qatar in 1981, when it lost to West Germany 0-4 in Australia.
Morocco became the second African team to reach the final after Ghana, which won the 2009 edition at the expense of Brazil on penalties, and lost the 1993 final to Brazil 1-2, and the 2001 final to Argentina 0-3. Nigeria also lost the 1989 final to Portugal 0-2 and the 2005 final to Argentina 1-2.
Morocco’s previous best result was fourth place in the 2005 edition in the Netherlands.
Othman Maama, one of the stars of the Moroccan national team, said, “We did not give up at any moment, despite the difficulty of the tournament. We once again showed the beautiful face of Morocco. The feelings here are very strong, and I will stop talking before I start crying.”
He continued, “I play for my team, my country, and my country, and for everyone. We hope that we will continue at the same level in the final. We only have one match to achieve the championship title, and I hope that I will give my best, and that the team will give everything it has.”
