The Prime Minister stressed that this meeting comes with the aim of determining the progress of work in the development plans on Warraq Island, which aim to create a civilized urban society, in addition to following up on the position of disbursing compensation to the eligible people of the island according to the mechanisms
In this regard, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of quickly disbursing financial compensation to eligible residents of the island, as well as facilitating the steps to obtain the proposed in-kind alternatives as quickly as possible, including alternative housing units and residential lands or Agricultural.
For his part, the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities presented the progress of work in implementing the “alternative units” Which is being implemented for those residents of the island who chose to obtain an alternative unit, in the housing projects in the urgent phase within the strategic plan for the island, where 94 towers are being built, with a total of 4,092 housing units, 50 towers have been implemented, of which 2,184 housing units are completed, and the work is being completed. The site will also include various services, including a service center, a basic and secondary education school, a youth center, a commercial center, a nursery, and a medical unit. Family. The Minister touched on the position of the utility works throughout Warraq Island, which aim to improve the level of services there. The position of the urgent electricity works was reviewed, including the implementation of the electricity distributor for the urgent phase, and launching the power to the distributor on March 27, 2025, in addition to the position of implementing the communications network for the entire island within the urgent phase with the smart grid management system, as well as the position of the water station that aims to supply the island with an amount of 65 thousand m3/day, with the first phase being 25 One thousand m3/day, in addition to the position of the work of delivering natural gas to the island, which aims to serve the current and future needs of the entire island. We decided to limit it to the needs of the urgent phase within the strategic plan for the island. For the people of Warraq Island, through the Urban Communities Authority, represented in the agency, including material compensation and in-kind alternatives, such as housing units, residential or agricultural lands, as well as aspects of dealing with land and house owners who do not have documents.
Engineer Osama Shawqi explained that the New Warraq Island Development Authority is It is the body responsible for completing all stages of the consensual sale procedures, and is keen to provide all facilities to speed up the completion of the procedures, including providing a mobile vehicle for the real estate notarization for documentation and making sales agencies, while reducing the time period for completing the procedures, and speeding up the disbursement of compensation to the people of the island.
