Abu Dhabi Police continues the Take Advantage campaign in cooperation with the Integrated Transport Centre

ABU DHABI, 17th October, 2017 (WAM) – The Abu Dhabi Police General Command, in cooperation with the Integrated Transport Center, launched an educational visual display of the “Take Advice” initiative on the screens of public buses and taxis in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as part of its ongoing efforts to spread traffic awareness and enhance the culture of compliance with the laws, and its endeavor to reach various segments of society through innovative means.
The cooperation included more than 700 buses distributed in the cities of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, in addition to 100 taxis equipped with external screens on the roof, and 370 taxis with internal screens, in a step aimed at enhancing the delivery of awareness messages to drivers and passengers in various vital locations.
Brigadier Mahmoud Yousef Al Balushi, Director of the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate in the Central Operations Sector, explained that this cooperation comes within the efforts of Abu Dhabi Police to expand the scope of field awareness using modern means, to reach the largest possible number of community members, and to enhance effective communication with the public in public places and transportation facilities.
He pointed out that the “Badir and Benefit” initiative allows drivers to benefit from flexible discounts on traffic violations, including a 35% discount when paying within 60 days from the date of committing the violation, and a 25% discount after 60 days and for a period of up to a full year from the date of their issuance, with the exception of violations classified within the dangerous category.
He explained that Abu Dhabi Police seeks, through this initiative, to enable customers to settle their violations easily and flexibly through a system of smart and integrated digital services, which includes the Abu Dhabi Police application, the (TAMM) platform, and customer happiness counters, as part of its efforts to promote digital transformation and raise the quality of life and services provided to members of society.
Colonel Mohammed Salem Al Khatri, Deputy Director of the Traffic Fines Collection Department in the Traffic and Security Patrols Directorate, explained that the expansion of displaying awareness materials on public transport screens aims to raise awareness of the benefits of early payment of fines and avoiding their accumulation, in addition to introducing discount options and easy installment services through the banks contracting with Abu Dhabi Police, which are First Abu Dhabi Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and Mashreq Islamic Bank. He stressed that the campaign contributes to motivating drivers to adhere to traffic laws, and reflects Abu Dhabi Police’s keenness to implement modern, field-based awareness methods to spread the culture of traffic safety, leading to safer and more stable roads, thus enhancing the position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a pioneering city in traffic safety and quality of life.
