Declared The Ministry of Educationannounced the final requirements and standards for the professional development points necessary to promote occupants of educational positions, in a strategic step aimed at ending the link between promotions and temporal seniority and linking them directly to professional competence and outstanding performance, in a way that serves thousands of male and female teachers in their career path.
The Ministry confirmed that passing the minimum specified points has become a major condition for transfer. Among the educational ranks, with the aim of establishing a culture of continuous self-development and motivating For educational cadres to improve their performance, which is directly reflected in the quality of the educational process and supports the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in building human beings.
Teacher Promotion Requirements
Among the most prominent requirements approved by the Ministry is the necessity for the promotion applicant to achieve at least 25 professional development points annually, to ensure continuity of professional growth and keep pace with developments in Field.
She explained that the total points required for promotion vary according to rank and academic qualification, as promotion from the rank of “teacher” to “practicing teacher” requires achieving 200 points.
The requirements for higher ranks are graduated, as for promotion from “practicing teacher” to “advanced teacher” it is required to achieve 200 points for those holding a bachelor’s degree, and 175 points. For Master’s degrees, and 150 points for Ph.D. As for reaching the rank of “expert teacher,” a bachelor’s degree holder must achieve 175 points, a master’s degree must achieve 150 points, and a doctorate must achieve 125 points, which are acquired through approved training programs and professional activities.
The Ministry stressed that this approach establishes the principle of job entitlement based on actual performance, and opens a wide scope for teachers to participate in various development programs. Professional training, including direct and indirect training, workshops, applied research, and educational initiatives that contribute to refining their skills and knowledge.
