المملكة: 69 thousand spoiled products.. Two egg packaging sites were seized and their expiration dates were modified in Jeddah


Declared : Two sites were found that violated the storage and packaging of and adjusting their expiration dates.

The campaign was implemented by the General Administration for Monitoring and Addressing Negative Phenomena, with the participation of , the Ministry of Commerce, the Food and Drug General Authority, the Sub-University Municipality, and Civil Defense.

Destruction of the seized quantities

It resulted in the seizure of the first site, which was a one-story labor housing, inside which two warehouses were found being used for illegal purposes, one of which was to store empty egg cartons, and the other To package eggs and amend production and expiry dates using special seals.

It was indicated that the field teams also seized two vehicles used to transport the violating products.

All quantities seized inside the site and the two vehicles, amounting to 69,440 eggs unfit for human consumption, were destroyed.

Packaging eggs and changing their expiration dates

A raid on another site, which is a nearby residential building exploited by workers who violate the packaging of eggs and changing their expiration dates, also resulted in the confiscation of an egg tray packaging machine and the discovery of about 40,000 stickers for the final product and a stamp for printing dates, as the sub-university municipality took charge of destroying all the seized items.

The Jeddah Municipality confirmed that these efforts come within the framework of joint monitoring campaigns implemented by the Municipality in cooperation with the competent authorities to reduce irregular practices in food handling.

And to ensure the safety of food products and the health of the consumer, calling on residents to cooperate and report any violating sites or activities through its official channels.
