"Sharjah Ports " It is looking to enhance cooperation with the Dubai Ports Security Council

Sharjah, October 19 / WAM / Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs and Chairman of the Regulatory Committee for Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah, discussed during his meeting with His Excellency Omar Ali Al-Adidi, Secretary General of the Dubai Council for Ports and Border Security, and his accompanying delegation, at the Monitoring and Control Center of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority.
The meeting discussed aspects of joint cooperation and strengthening coordination between the two sides in the areas related to the management and operation of border ports, in addition to aspects related to the development of security and supervisory work systems at land, sea and air ports, which contributes to enhancing performance efficiency and integrating efforts between the authorities concerned with managing and operating the ports at the state level.
The meeting was attended by a number of department directors and heads of relevant departments from both sides, who reviewed areas of cooperation and mechanisms for exchanging experiences and best practices in the ports’ work system.
The visiting delegation was briefed on a presentation on the mechanism of work of the Regulatory Committee for Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah, and its most prominent achievements since its establishment pursuant to the decision of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah in 2020 AD, and the development it has achieved in the areas of field coordination and integration between the entities working in the ports. The visit included a field tour of the follow-up and control room for the customs ports sector. At Sharjah International Airport, where the latest systems and technologies adopted in monitoring and control operations were learned.
The center is considered one of the most advanced centers in the customs and regulatory work system in the emirate, as it includes 36 visual display screens and 21 control screens distributed over 11 smart tables, and 44 employees work in shifts around the clock. So far, the centers of Sharjah International Airport, air cargo, and the airport’s free zone have been linked with 274 smart cameras that operate with artificial intelligence techniques for facial recognition and license plates. Vehicles, data storage and analysis, with the possibility of accommodating an additional 1,100 cameras as part of the future expansion plan. The plans also include electronic connectivity with the National Center for Early Inquiry and the establishment of a smart system for risk analysis.
