"Al Dhafra Dates" Winners are crowned

Al Dhafra, October 19 / WAM / The organizing committee of the Al Dhafra Dates Festival and Auction crowned the winners of the competitions (Al Dhafra Elite Dates, Bu Maan, Date Packaging Without Additives), as part of the activities of the fourth session, which continues until October 26, in Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.
His Excellency Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, crowned the winners of the competitions, in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Ghanem Al Mansouri, Executive Vice President of Al Foah Company, and a number of farmers, producers and lovers of heritage auctions.
The results in the Al Dhafra Elite Dates Auction resulted in first place going to the heirs of Issa Faris Saeed Al Mazrouei, in second place was Khalifa Suhail Ali Rabie Al Mazrouei, in third place was the heirs of Ali Mubarak Sultan Al-Ariani, in fourth place was Sultan Saeed Muhammad Sultan Al-Ariani, and in fifth place was Hamid Saeed Muhammad Sultan Al-Ariani.
The festival’s organizing committee allocated 10 prizes to the winners of the Al Dhafra Elite auction with a total value of 630,000 dirhams, of which the first winner receives 150,000 dirhams, the second 125,000, and the third 100,000 dirhams.
In the competition for packaging dates without additives, “Ghubaisha Abdullah Barak Al Mazrouei” came in first place, in second place was “Khannour Oasis Dates”, third place was “Saif Ali Saber Al Mazrouei”, fourth place was “Maitha Muhammad Suhail Ali Al Mazrouei”, and in fifth place was “Fakhira Awad Al Mansouri”. Ten prizes were allocated to the winners of the competition with a total value of 215 thousand dirhams. The packaging competition aims to develop Educating producers and manufacturers on the latest packaging methods, taking into account the quality and health safety of the product.
In the Bu Maan dates auction, first place went to Sultan Hamoud Saif Saif Al-Ariani, in second place was Fatima Saeed Muhammad Al-Ariani, in third place was Rashid Hamad Musabah Faris Al-Shamsi, fourth place went to the heirs of Khamis Hamouda Al-Ariani, and fifth place went to Sultan Saif Muhammad Al-Ariani. The committee allocated 10 prizes to the winners of the Bu Maan auction, worth 280 thousand dirhams, the first place holder receiving 75 thousand dirhams, and the second is on 50 thousand, and the third is 40 thousand.
In the date auction on the second day of the festival, the total sales amounted to more than 244 thousand dirhams, and the amount of dates sold amounted to 3,220 kilograms distributed among 1,073 boxes of luxury dates, while the most expensive sale was worth 760 dirhams per box of the Nawader variety.
This morning, the festival received entries for the Dabbas Dates Auction Competition, and the Sidr Honey Competition “Local Round,” while the daily date auction continues from four o’clock in the evening until the end of the bidding, in addition to Moroccan village activities, folk art performances, cooking events, a children’s corner, and other remarkable events.
