Then setbacks began to occur for Fawzi, specifically three years after the founding of the company, as the company was nationalized in 1961 and he was appointed as its director with a salary of 100 pounds. This caused him severe depression that prompted him to travel abroad, and illness prevented him from going to Egypt again until after his death. He got married. Fawzi was married 3 times. The first marriage was in 1943 to Mrs. Hedaya, with whom he had 3 children. Then he separated from her in 1952 and married the artist Madiha Yousra. Then he separated from her and married the artist Karima in 1960, with whom he had his youngest daughter, and this marriage remained until his death.
