A fan wins a “Gator T2” car after 20 years of supporting Al Ain

Al-Ainawi fan Mohammed Hamad Al-Rashdi expressed his overwhelming happiness after winning a Jetor T2 car in the draw that took place during the match between Al-Ain and Baniyas, the day before yesterday, at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the sixth round of the ADNOC Professional Football League, stressing that this award carries a special character for him after 20 years during which he remained keen to renew Al-Ainawi’s seasonal membership.
Al-Rashidi, who lives in the Umm Ghafa area in Al-Ain, told Emirates Al-Youm: “The car will remain and I will not sell it, as it is linked to a beautiful memory with Al-Ain Club, and I will not give it away no matter what happens. Winning it is a historic moment for me.”
He added: “It was an ordinary day like all days, and I did not expect to be so lucky. This is the first time in my life that I have won an award, and thank God for the success.”
Al-Rashidi recalled his memories with the club, saying: “I started my membership more than 20 years ago, when the team was playing in Tahnoon bin Mohammed Stadium in Al-Qattara, and since then I have renewed my membership every year in order to attend matches and support the leader.”
Regarding his most prominent moments with the team, he said: “I have many happy memories with Al Ain, but winning the AFC Champions League title and participating in the Club World Cup remain the most beautiful. As for the loss to Jeonbuk of Korea in the 2016 Asian final, it is the only sad memory that I have not forgotten.”
Al Rashidi’s winning of the award coincided with Al Ain’s great victory over Bani Yas with a clean 4-0, and he commented with a smile: “More good is good.”
