UAE players qualified for the knockout rounds of the International Table Tennis Championship in Dubai

Dubai, October 21 / WAM / UAE male and female players have qualified for the knockout rounds of the Emirates International Table Tennis Championship for Youth and Juniors, organized by the Emirates Table Tennis Federation in cooperation with the International Federation and with the support of the Dubai Sports Council, which is currently being held at the Shabab Al Ahli Club hall in Al Mamzar, with the participation of 265 male and female players from 26 countries.
Rashid Saeed, Mohammed Al Musaibi and Nasser Al Marri succeeded in qualifying for the round of 32 for the U-13 category for boys after topping their groups.
In the under-13 girls category, Maitha Al-Qahtani and Maryam Al-Suwaidi qualified for the round of 64 after finishing second in their groups.
In the U-17 category for boys, the UAE players continued their brilliance, as Ahmed Al-Musaibi and Ali Al-Hawai qualified for the round of 32 after topping each of their groups, while Youssef Al-Hawai advanced to the round of 64.
The first day of the tournament witnessed strong competition and great excitement in the U-13 and U-17 categories for boys and girls, with a number of international seeds participating in both categories.
The tournament also recorded the qualification of a number of prominent Arab players in the under-13 category, including the Saudis Yousef Hanifa and Ahmed Al-Khalaf, the Bahrainis Ahmed Al-Banna and Sayed Alawi, along with the Jordanian Rakan Al-Zoubi, and the Iraqi Andia Muhammad.
The tournament is considered one of the most prominent stations on the international agenda of the UAE Table Tennis Federation, and aims to develop the levels of local players and provide the opportunity to interact with the most prominent international talents, thus enhancing their readiness for the upcoming competitions.
Hassan Al Zarouni, Secretary-General of the Emirates Table Tennis Federation and tournament director, confirmed that the success of the third edition of the tournament is an extension of the successes of the first and second editions, and that the tournament has become internationally known not only because it is accredited by the International Federation, but also because of the presence of an elite group of ranked players from 26 countries.
