The Foreign Minister expresses Egypt’s aspiration for Türkiye’s active participation in the Gaza Reconstruction Conference

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, expressed, during a phone call with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Egypt’s aspiration for Turkey’s active participation in the International Conference on Early Recovery, Reconstruction and Development in the Gaza Strip scheduled to be held in Cairo next November, and its support for international efforts to reconstruct the Strip and stabilize the region.

The two ministers touched on the ongoing preparations for holding it. International Conference on Early Recovery, Reconstruction and Development in the Gaza Strip.  The call also discussed ways to support bilateral relations between the two countries, in addition to following up on regional developments of common interest.

The two ministers discussed the course of bilateral relations between Egypt and Turkey, as they stressed the keenness of both sides to continue building on the positive momentum witnessed by relations between the two friendly countries, and to strengthen cooperation mechanisms in various political, economic, and investment fields. The importance of advancing the path of joint consultation and coordination on Regional and international issues; In a way that contributes to serving mutual interests and supporting security and stability in the region.

In this context, the two ministers reviewed the results of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the agreement that resulted from it to end the war in the Gaza Strip in accordance with the US President’s plan, where they stressed the importance of consolidating the agreement and calming down; In a way that contributes to achieving security and stability in the region.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad Affairs stressed, in this regard, the importance of fully implementing the terms of the agreement in a way that guarantees a permanent ceasefire, and facilitating the access of humanitarian, relief and medical aid to the Gaza Strip, pointing to the importance of the existing coordination between Egypt and Turkey in following up on the stages of the agreement in cooperation with regional and international partners.
